No synonyms in shortcut menu?

Just a small question, wondering if you all have seen this before:
I copied and pasted something from my e-mail browser into Word and the synonym section of the shortcut menu is gone. Why?

Oh, just some typing that I had just done on a new e-mail message. It wasn't formatting the text correctly, so I copied it and pasted it into Word to get the correct formatting. (Word does better with text sometimes than those pesky e-mail editors!) Waymond
