no store or directory options for exch 5.5

hI,

Got a bit of a strange one, i have BE and Exchange Agent installed on my exchange server, when i go to schedule a job i do not see the information store or directory check boxes. The Exchage Mailboxes box is present.

I've had a look on Veritas and tried a couple of their suggestions with little luck, also reinstalled agent to no avail. Anyone had this bedore or got any ideas ?

I have seen this when no Exchange Agent serial number has been entered into backup exec.

The exchange agent has definitely got a serial number associated with it, i have reinstalled it also. Am going to try full reinstall of BE when i can get some downtime.

possibly this..

change the following regkey to 1 on both the exchange server and backup exec server..

HKLM\SOftware\veritas\backup exec\engine\ntfs\restrict anonymous support.

restart the backup exec services - see if you can see the IS now.

Just had a look the restrict anonymous support key does not exist (exchange and BE server are the same). Will have a dig around on Veritas site, sounds like this could be relevant.

If it is 8.6 - I think the key gets created when you do a backup for the first time.

If it's 9.x - it is definitely there even at install.

Did you end upo getting a fix for this problem??

Im having a the same problem on a new backup exec 9.1 install........

BENT9.1 on Win NT4.0 sp6a, trying to backup a remote Exchange 5.5 server (exchange agent installed, remote agent installed).

The mailboxes are visable but the information store directory is empty???

Anyone else have any ideas??
