we log onto a computer with one of two accounts- an administrator account and an account named nfs with administrator rights. logged on as administrator, all is fine. logged on as nfs, i open outlook express, and have no spell checker. so i click tools/options to fix this, and there is no "spelling" tab. all the other tabs are available. not sure what to do to enable spell checking.

no spelling tab in outlook express options 1

i miss understood your question. no, within outlook express but not within the message there is no spelling tab under tools/options. at least not on one profile. if i log off and back on as the other user, i have a spelling tab. profiles are large and cumbersome, didn't want to have to wipe it out and recreate it, but that might be my best choice.

Outlook Exresss 6 has the following limitation as I found out on the Microsoft Web site:
Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available.
