Hi guys!

Kind of a complex setup, but here goes. I've got a SCN where all the systems are 7.0.12 and the SIP lines are at the main site. When I set up twinning at the remote site and the call goes through, there is only one way speech until the user picks up on his 9650(he can hear the caller, the caller can't hear him). I haven't been able to get to the remote site to try much, but if you guys had any clues or hints before I get there that would be great!

Direct media path turned on the IP extn?

I just logged in and checked and yes, that box is checked as are all IP phones. I believe that's the default. Would that cause my problem?

depending on network configuration, try turning off DMP. merge - ignore it if asks for a reboot.

OK, I'll give it a shot and post with results.

if all works with DMP switched off then you have a data routing issue on your network that should be investigated & resolved.

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows

No change...and actually its a no speech problem. Any other ideas?

The sites are linked through a direct point to point fiber that works for everything else voice and data related. I'll ask about any firewall in between, but as far as I know it's just the routers in there and like I said they don't affect anything else.

Well the handsets and system pass voice traffic via the network, they push it out their LAN port with a destination address via the gateway you set (if not local) once it has left they have no control over that traffic, if it isn't making it to the other side something else is causing it to get lost/blocked :)

That makes sense...like something in the header isn't right. I'll talk to the carrier about it and see what they think.

I got nowhere with the carrier, except that he googled the issue and found a reference in another thread to a CQ40866. I logged in and found CQ123427 that says "Same as CQ40866 Twinning over SIP has no audio" and the fix target is 1Q12.

Since I'm fairly new to searching the caveat section of that site, am I correct in assuming that this problem won't be addressed by Avaya until sometime Jan-Mar of 2012??
