After moving a Windows ME computer system to a different room I found there was no sound.
It is an Onboard sound system.
All connections checked o/k speakers connected to Line Out etc.,
Upon going into Device Manager I noticed there was no Sound device listed.
I would like to know where to go from here.
Thanks
wallie

make sure that all your cables to speakers are properly seated and plugged into the correct ports.. also make sure through device mgr that the drivers have no problems.. (shown by an exclaimation point ((!)) check to make sure the speakers do work..

All leads are correct and I have tried the speakers on another system they are o/k.
In Device Manager there are no exclamation marks because there is no Sound device listed under Sound Video and Game controllers.
The computer uses Onboard sound and the problem must relate to no Onboard Sound device being listed.
Thanks
wallie

Try resetting the Bios settings for your onboard sound. if that doesnt work.. try to re-install the sound drivers off the CD that came with the motherboard or downloading the correct drivers from the internet.
