At the moment I'm running a fresh instally of Mandrake 9.0, and seem to be only having one problem. A few days ago everything was perfect, but I decided to show a friend the installation process anyway. I went through it, got everything up and running again, and went about getting back to where I was before. Almost everything went smoothly, except for the Xine DivX player. For some reason, it has no sound whatsoever. Video plays fine, but audio is non-existent. I've read several suggestions online and tried them all, including updating sound drivers, reinstalling the whole program, and putting my sound server on full duplex. Nothing works. In fact, you can't even adjust the volume in the Xine control gui, leading me to believe it's some sort of driver problem. The odd thing is, as I said, a few days ago everything was fine. If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it, I tried using MPlayer but was not entirely thrilled. I'd like to get Xine back to the way I had it, so if anyone could send some tips my way I'd appreciate it. And just so you know, I have sound for all other programs, it's just Xine that doesn't work.
