When I am in Windows 98 2nd Editon there is no sound, but if I restart in DOS there is sound through the external speakers. There are no conflicts with the multimedia audio properties using Yahama audio. The driver is Yamaha OPL3-SAx WDM with a date of 4-23-1999. The PC is a Toshiba Pentium 200 with on board audio. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Go to Start/Run, type
dxdiag
and hit enter and skip to the sound tests
and run them.
If any fails, disable then reenable. Sometimes it makes them work.

DOS drivers work...it has to be Windows drivers, doesn't it?

Delete the device in Device Manager and reboot and let the OS rediscover it, then reload the drivers.
