I've just installed Win2K as the 2nd OS on my new Compaq Presario (Athlon KT133 processor, 256 MB RAM, Win ME as OEM OS, and everything's working well except that there's no sound at all. The Sounds/Multimedia options in COntrol Panel are all grayed out. This PC has the onboard Soundmax card. I've removed/reinstalled the audio device, and downloaded all available AGP drivers.

I'd be grateful if someone could help.

Thanks,

the best thing you can do, is to try to find drivers for your motherboard , for windows 2000 , typically what you have to do when you have onboard componets (I never liked boards that came with onboard video or audio)

another thing to do is to get the latest VIA Chipset Drivers (you know for the Kx133 and KT133), at
