I am running NAVC 7.60 on a Win2K server and I got the netscape virus the other day... All is fine and it was quaratined but now on the server it doesn't show the NAVC sheild in the system tray...

Is norton still running??? How do i make it show the system icon??? Is this because of the netscape virus???

thanks in advance

mswilson

Administrators have the option from the SCC to turn the sys tray icon shield icon on and off. You might want to check the settings.

To turn it off/on goto the SCC right click the server icon > all tasks > symantec antivirus > client adminstrative option. the option is in there.

The weird thing is that I looked there and it is saying that the icon should be visible... but it isnt any ideas????

mswilson16, you can look in the task manager and see if the rtvscan.exe process is running. If it's not, then I don't believe the realtime protection is on.

If it's off, try to stop and restart the service.

Also check out this registry key:

Key Name: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\AdministratorOnly\General

Set ShowVPIcon to 1
