Hi,
I'm installing SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 on a Compaq Proliant ML370 server which doesn't have array controllers. I boot the server with a bootable floppy and deleted and created a primary dos partition. Now when I try to install SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 from it's CD, it comes up with this aforementioned error after having put these parameters on the boot: prompt

defbootstr link="cha" hd=Sdsk Srom=wd(0,0,0)

the Error is :
No root disk controller was found.

How do I solve this and continue with my installation?

That means , your installation media dos not have the driver for your disk controller.

You can learn the boot string for this particular installation with the Smart Start ( the one that comes with your server) Cd on a windows machine and create the BTLD , EFS and Readme File.

I hope this can help !!!
