All my "event files" work fine, but I can't get the "ding" sound to play when I click on the volume slider.

I have reset all the events back to their "defaults", but still no "ding".

I had this problem once before and fixed it, but now I have forgotten what I did!

Anybody know how I can get my "ding" back? <g>

If your hardware is working correctly, check your sound controls by double-clicking the speaker in the system tray, make sure nothing is 'muted'. If that's OK, go to the control panel, check the settings for ALL of the events there (Contol panel --> Sounds --> Particular Event(s) e.g. start windows, close windows, etc.) Maybe you have something turned off, or "none" for the event sound.
