For some reason it seems that the Acrobat PDFMaker macro didn't make install when I recently installed Acrobat 5.0. I'm using Word 2002 and am stuck in trying to convert my Word files to .pdf's. Also, I'm not quite sure how to set up Distiller as a printer. Does this happen automatically? I'm sorry these are probably really stupid questions.

Thanks for any help.

well, i figured most of it out. the icon still isn't showing up within Word 2002, but i got the Distiller to show up under the printers.

For future reference, I had system restore turned on and this was allows XP to overwrite the PostScript printer driver files that Acrobat installs (version 5.0.2195.3305) with the PostScript driver files (version 5.1.26000) that ship with Windows XP, causing the Acrobat Distiller printer installation to fail. The Acrobat installer requires the framedyn.dll file to be in the System32\Wbem folder. If the framedyn.dll file is missing or corrupt, or if the Path System variable indicates a different folder (which was also the case), the installer fails to install the Acrobat Distiller printer instance and the Postscript driver files included with Acrobat.

I converted my first file!!!! yea! oh boy, our intranet and knowledge base is going to be something else!
