Hi, Using IDCS3

when going to object-->convert shape, there is not circle option..but everything eles. Am I missing something?

Yes, I can choose ellipse, and then go the width to adjust and make it a square.

I suppose, having the circle option would be one less step.

Thanks for your input.

well there is, it's called an elipse though

If the container is square to begin with it turns into a lovely circle. If the height and width are uneven it makes an oval. So the trick is, after editing your path, and you want to make it a circle, have the same height and width values in and then convert to elipse, and you have a lovely circle.

Yes, Euge, that would do it!

although having a circle option would take away on step....but thank you---I didn't think of it.

Nicole

It certainly would take that unnecessary step away wouldn't it. Lousy InDesign :p

Nicole,

An even easier way to get a circle with the oval tool is to hold down the shift key as you click and drag the size of the oval. You can click and drag from the corner you want to start there or hold down the shift + option keys to start from the center of the circle.

I guess Adobe thought that would be redundant to have both a circle and oval tool in the tool box;)
