I use a MS optical mouse.

its standard connection is USB, but whenever i startup i get a message telling me that a PS2 mouse. This is annoying. When i use a standard adapter USB--->PS/2 i have no problems. Just want to get the USB woirking.

I have installed the USB drivers and the intellitype software. T3/\/\p()

Might check bios for a ps/2 mouse setting. You might be able to disable it. Not quite sure what the message is when you start up. Is it an error?

Go into device manager (in Control Panel > System) and remove the PS/2 mouse there. All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.
