No prompt to change network password

We've suddenly been experiencing a problem that seems to be specific to laptops on our network running windows 98. Our nt and win2000 users get prompted when they log on if their password is within 14 days of expiring. Our windows 98 people used to recieve the same prompts, but now all of a sudden they aren't, and their passwords expire on them. Nothing seems to have been changed server side, and I just can't figure out why it's only affecting win98 users! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Not sure if this will help but worth a try.

try deleting the .pwl files it might be corruption within these files.
