No printing if floppy in drive...?!

I have a Compaq NetVista that prints to a Canon bubblejet printer without problems. That is, until I put a floppy disk into the floppy drive. I can read data from the disk or write it if I need to, but then the printer will no longer work!

Anyone ever heard of this problem or have an idea as to what might cause it?

TIA,

ShackDaddy

Check the interrupt request for both the floppy and the printer. They may be set to use the same one.
