Recently I had a system crash and had to reinstall OS 9.2. Since then I've lost my LaserJet 6MP. I've trashed all the files, reinstalled all the files, replaced the cord...but when I select the printer on the left of the chooser, there's no postscript printer to select on the right. Help! I need to print!

Did you also reinstall the specific Printer driver?

What do you mean by "replaced the cord"? Physically the electrical cord of the printer to the printer? Or the connecting cord between the printer and the computer?

Software: XL2002 on Win2K
Humanware: Older than dirt

I replaced the cord connecting the printer to the computer. I also downloaded the latest drivers from HP.

I also have this printer connected to a PC, which I've done for years, and it still functions OK on the PC side. So, I think it has to be something I'm not seeing with the MAC.

Do you see the PPD for that printer in the system folder>extensions>printer descriptions?

I had a similar thing happen with an HP that needed an installer utility to run first. Check with the mfg for that would probably be helpful. Unfortunately I found nothing on the mfg support area, but found the answer in a users forum on their site. Aren't these places great?
