I have been trying to replace/upgrade my system. I tried to build a system using a new Gigabyte GA-7DXE, AMD XP 2100+ processor, 256 PC2100 DDR, New Seagate 7200 rpm 80 gb hard drive (not yet formatted, and an unknown brand of AGP graphics card. The card had been verified to have been previously working. Once I put it all together, I could not get the system to POST. I the keyboard lights flashed and I could hear the hard drive spin, but then nothing more.
I tried a different motherboard-ASUS A7M266-M, an AMD processor that had been previously used with this board, the same RAM as above (which has been validated to be good), the same AGP card as above, then a new PNY Verto GeForce 4 MX 440 AGP 8x AGP card. When I put it all together--same problem--no POST. My monitor is good. I've wracked my brain, picked the brains of the folks at New Horizons and taken the first setup to a computer repair store. No resolution.
It seems like the stopping point is with the video. Does anyone have any ideas?
