Can't view JPEG or BMP images. I was able to before so I don't know if something was deleted by mistake. Windows states that it cannot find PictureViewer.exe.

Bitmaps are normally viewed by MSPAINT but JPEG's are normally viewed by MSIMAGING. It could by that the exe is still there but the filters are missing from the DLL library. Or that the library has become corrupted. I belive you can still re-install just that segment of the programming by going into the Control Panel and click on add programs icon. Click on the Windows setup and browse the programs. Add MSPAINT and IMAGING and then click next.
Make sure you have your Windows disc in the drive.

You could also check to see what the association is in the View Menu under Options / File Types. If you MS Office installed you can redirect the association to Photoed, this covers around 90% of images.

Or.. bitmaps and jpegs have lost the association to the program that is supposed to open them up. highlight a bitmap, then holding shift down right-click on it. Select the open with option. This will open a window. Scroll down till you find paint. Make sure paint is selected and make sure the checkbox "always use this program to open this type of file" at the bottom is selected and click ok.

Now your bitmaps should be associated with paint. Repeat this procedure for the jpegs....

good luck
