No photopaint books available in major bookstores 2

Hi - I want to learn the very very basics in photopaint, and have been looking for some beginner's guides, but big places like chapters, and amazon don't carry any.....
However I have found that there is a ton of books on Adobe Photoshop - why?
 
I think that part of the reason for a lack of books is the poor return on all the work that goes into publishing one.
There is so much free information and tutorials on the internet that many of the people who used to write the books are not doing it now.

Those should have plenty of good tutorials and links to many other sites.
