Adobe Acrobat 6.0 standard
Win2k sp3
MetaframXP Enterprise Server fr2sp2

Install of Acrobat runs successful right up to the end where it dies and tells me PDFMaker or printer (something like that) can not be installed.
I get the pdfmaker icons in the office apps but no printer...

I have tried setting up a lpt1 port but no help...
Anyone have a fix for a successful printer setup or successfull acrobat install on citrix client?

Acrobat is not licensed for installation on a server - if you need to create pdf docs using a server then you can license Distiller Server for about $5000 for 100 users (or at least that's how much it used to be)

Ahhhhh, I see you have a machine that goes Bing!

Murgle, we all know its not for servers but it can be configured for a published app through citrix...I own distiller liscenses...I was able to to configure 5.0 to work for the farm but now 6.0 is much different process....

anyone else with a fix?

>>we all know its not for servers

well I'm glad that you, and most other people know this, but not everyone does.......can't help you with the citrix bit.

Ahhhhh, I see you have a machine that goes Bing!

You're correct...i think figured out the Adobe issue...
Warning: If you are doing this on Citrix server remotely make sure in the PATH (step12) you don't delete the citrix entries or you will have to walk to the LAN room to login the info yourself (which may be my problem)

With a little help from Adobe Forums and for all of you:
These steps usually do the trick:

1. Click Start > Settings > Printers
2. Delete ANY PostScript printers you see listed, even if they're network printers.
3. Click File > Server Properties
4. Click on the Ports tab. If you see any Adobe PDF ports, delete them.
5. Click on the Drivers tab. If you deleted any drivers in step 2, delete them here as well. Additionally, look for "Adobe PDF Converter" and remove it, as well as anything that starts with "AdobePS" or ends with "PostScript" or "PS".
6. Click Close.
7. Right-click on the My Computer icon and select Properties
8. Click on the Advanced tab
9. Click on Environment Variables
10. Double-click on "Path" listed under System variables
11. TAKE OUT whatever is there! This is the key step.
12. Paste the following in its place:

%SystemRoot%\System32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\WBEM

13. Click OK, then click OK on the Environment Variables screen and the System Properties screen.
14. Reboot your computer.
15. Reinstall Acrobat.
