No pdf crops/colour bars on ibook PM6.5 files

Hi all.
I have been making full strength .pdf files with crop marks and colour bars, for years with distiller from Pagemaker 6.5 using latest adobe drivers etc. on a desktop mac g3. No worries at all.

Recently tried same procedure, with same software (os 9.2.2, ps 8.8, on
two mac ibooks. Required page size fine, no crops printers marks appear though. While not many use notebooks for layout tasks this was baffling. Any bug experts out there? I feel it may be a peculiarity with ibook logic boards or memory.
