No 'Open' dialog in Excel 2000

Close Excel.
Hit Start-Run and type:
regedit
and hit enter. Browse to this folder in the registry:
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\9.0\excel
Right-click the Excel folder and rename it OldExcel. Close the registry editor.
Launch Excel. Brainbench MVP for Microsoft Word
techsupportgirl@home.com
