I`ve been told by BT have by having more them 2 voice segments in the Symposium causes problems-have anyone else came across this. The problem we had was with the prompts not being played, everything else was fine
Could you be more specific? Are you talking about the voice segments you have built in the voice prompt editor? Are you talking about including more than 2 voice segments in a script or are you talking about referencing more than 2 voicesegments in a script variable? Please add more specifics and I will see if I can help.
Its in the file when you open via the Voice prompt editor. File , file>open at this prompt you select the actual file you wish to to open once opened you access to the inidividual recordings- makes sense?
Can you delete a voice file? Someone created a voice file on accident and no one is sure if it can be deleted without causing problems? There is no voice segements in it, it is just there.
You can, [red]but[/red] say you have 10 voice files and you delete nr 2, the rest of the files move up one digit....
this means that all your variables should be adjusted. This is OK if you have only 8 extra variables, but believe me it's hell if you have 100 or more....
Supernn. I think you have confused a voice file with a voice segment. The voice file is the collection of voice segments. If you delete a segment then numbering gets messed up. You can elete a voice file without problem. When you go into the voice prompt editor, select file delete then select the file you require.
PD-S you right its not thr actual voice segment i.e the part you re-record over but the actual file which holds the voice segments. BT have confimed that Nortel may not support Symposium with more then 2 voice files
As I know there is no problem to delete voice files that where created by mistake. One time we had 4 voice files created this way (3 were empty).
In fact we still use just 1 voice file with 68 Voice prompts recorded in it. There is no reason to create next voice file, every prompts work correctly. I could hear Nortel just does not recommend to create more then 2 voice files.
Here's what I grabbed. If it's any cheer to people out ther I have 7 files...Noooooo...could explain a lot though !
