No ODBC connectivity to Contact Manager 6?

I've been using an ODBC connection to our old symposium server Version 4.x for a while and running reports through Access and Excel. One of our subsidiaries has moved into a new space and the new Nortel Contact Center Manager 6 on their server doesn't seem to allow me to get to the tables via ODBC using the SYBASE drivers.

It does however offer ODBC connectivity to other Sybase databases from the server for reporting using the Report Creation Wizard that comes with CCM 6.

Have they really taken away ODBC access TO Symposium data from 3rd party apps like MS Access?

No, you can still use ODBC to run access the blue database. Get the latest version of the Historical Report and Data Dictionary for connection info. The Sybase version in CC6 is updated so you will need the updated Sybase drivers (found on the CC6 DVD).

The Report Creation Wizard (RCW) is an onboard tool to modify the standard report formats without having to know ODBC. If you have the capability (as you stated above) to work with ODBC functionality, then RCW is a step backward.
