I am building a database for work that will keep track of all maintenance inspections for the machines on-site. After nearly completing the design I’ve run into the problem of not being able to pull out any new records that were entered through a form into the database. I was working with 32 records in designing the database, and that is all I can pull out. The information inputed does update the database records. The new records do not show up in any of the reports or forms. Is there a simple way to fix this without having to re-build what I have done? Why is Access brain-farting on my new data?
The count displayed is "1 of 32". I inputed 10 new records in a form based upon a select query and the new records won't show up even after I close and re-open the database. My 2 other forms and my 3 reports are all based upon select queries, but none of the 10 records that were added after finishing the design will be brought back. I am trying to build this database so that ANYTHING NEW LIKE THIS WILL ALWAYS SHOW UPON REQUEST! But alas, my theory is proven to be hard-pressed to accomplish this in the application. These forms and reports MUST WORK IF NEW DATA IS INPUTED INTO THE DATABASE. The database contains a switchboard in order to be "user-friendly" for the person that will use it, who knows NOTHING about computers.
Is there any way that I can get these forms and reports to pull out the data WITHOUT RE-BUILDING EVERYTHING! I have had to customize all the forms and reports, and it's taken hours to do that. I would like to keep everything in place without re-building every form and report. Please, HELP!!!!!!!
Note: I have designed the database to use a query that will pull out calculated inspection dates according to a date range. Don't know if this is conflicting with anything else.
