Hello All,

I am trying to deploy a application that patches workstations within our domain. However, when I attempt to deploy the "Agents" on to our workstations I get the follwoing error: "Windows Error: The network path was not found".

I get this error for 90% of the client machines on my domain.
Important Note: The client software needs access to the Admin$ share and the C$ share on the client machines.

I have already verified the following:

1) Admin$ and C$ shares are present on all the workstations

2) Windows XP SP2 firewall is turned off

3) File Sharing is enabled on all client machines

4) From the SERVER I am able to ping the CLIENT machine using the IP address and the DNS name.

5) From the CLIENT machine I am able to ping the SERVER using the DNS name and IP address

I have found Microsof's solution to this problem: Removing the workstation from the domain and then adding it back to the domain.

This is not possible for me because of the large amount of workstations/laptops that we have.

Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

This may be a DNS issue.
Ensure all client devices use the server(s) for their DNS.
Ensure the server is using itself for DNS.
Server DNS forwarders configured to use the ISP's DNS.

Are all these devices on the same subnet?
