no more custom number formats can be added error

One of our users has been sent an XL97 file which when opened gives a 'no more custom number formats can be added' error.

Does any know what this means. A search of TechNet comes up with very little.
 
It means there are too many custom number formats set up in that workbook
You will need to go to Format>Cell>Number>Custom and delete some of the additional Custom number formats
