No Message Confirmation on Octel 100

I have an Octel 100 where if somebody marks a message to have confirmation, it doesn't work. After the message is played back by the receiver, no confirmation is sent back to the sender. I've confirmed that the sender has Message Confirmation enabled on their COS.

Any suggestions on what I am missing here. Or will I need to get Avaya involved since the option is given to the user, but it just won't work.

I have an Octel 100 at 3.2.9E. Here is how the confirmation works on this system:

-mailbox user sends a message and marks it for message confirmation.

-mailbox user can then logon to their mailbox afterwards and use option 3 to "Locate Messages".

-once the recepient listens to the message then the next time the originator mailbox uses the "Locate Messages" feature it will prompt about "message received".

I never actually get a new message back once the recepient listens to the message. The only confirmation I can get is if I use the "Locate Messages" feature from the originator mailbox.
 
That's it, thanks! I was used to the Octel 250 which would generate a return message. I'll let the user know to go into the Locate Messages menu and check from there.
