I have a domain with one PDC and one BDC, both running NT Server 4.0. They are the only machines that are running as browsers on the domain. I have followed Microsofts procedures registry settings for browsers and elections. The problem is that when I use the browser monitor utility there are no machines registered as the master browser. I checked the registery to make sure that the ISDomainMaster is set to True, and that MaintainServerList is Yes. They are both seen as browsers, but the master browser is unknown. What am I missing?

What you'll need to do is force an election on the PDC.
You do this from the DOS prompt by typing: browsestat /p
This should do the trick...

You might also make sure the IsMasterBrowser is set to False on the BDC - Then force the Election from the PDC and ITP1 is correct - typing browsestat with the switch /p will force the Browser election from the PDC -
Hope this helps...
M.
