No mapping was found between account names and security IDs was done

I have a win 2000 server. I am trying to attach a my win 2000 pro to the domain. I have creaed pc & user account on the server. When I try to attach through my computer properties, I am prompted for username/pwd. When I give the same, it says:

No mapping was found between account names and security IDs was done. Any idea why.
