No LOV from Dynamic Parameter

I'm using CR 2008 against an Oracle 10g db. I created a report with one static parameter for submission id. The requirement was for a dynamic parameter, so I used the Business View Manager to create a dynamic submission prompt (select sub id from table where sub type = 300). I went through the steps of creating the data connection, the data foundation with 1 table, the business element and view, and the list of values. When I open the report, then open the repository, I can see the prompt. However, when I select it, I do not get a list of values. I get the choice of range values or discreet values, but not a list of all submissions. If I choose discreet values, create the new parameter, enter a value and run the report, it works. Why am I not seeing a list of values?? I'm new to Business View Manager, so I'm guessing I missed a step in the creation of the dynamic parameter.

I would suggest creating the dynamic parameter from within the report, make sure it's working as expected, then look at the associated objects that were created and now reside in the BVM. That should give you some clues about what may be missing or configured incorrectly so that next time you can create them there.

You probably want to delete the existing objects from the BVM first to make it more clear.

I tried running an LOV instance from the Business View Manager and if failed. I'm getting a query engine error from the Job Server. Any ideas??

Get it working in the report first, if possible using CR on your BOE server.

Then make sure the Oracle client is installed on the job server, and that you can connect to the db using the credentials stored in the job server settings.
