I have a win95 workstation on an NT network that will not open up to the network logon screen. I have TCP/IP installed, Client for Microsoft Networks, and have reinstalled my NIC card (3COM 905b). I have verified that the LAN connection is good with a FLUKE network assistant and verified the patch cable but am still unable to get the logon screen. HELP please. Thanks

Two possible reasons: Client for microsoft networks is not installed, or the autologon key in the registry is set. You can check by choosing "close all programs and log on as a different user" from the shutdown menu. If the logon screen comes up and you can log on normally, then it's the registry. I can't remember the actual key, but if you search for "autolo" you should be able to find it. Once you find it, change it's number. If it is "1" change it to "0", or vise versa. Good Luck!

dm7941 is correct, the key you need in the registry is called 'autologon' you can change as recommended by dm7941 or you can highlight & delete it and Windows will then boot up to the logon screen. Its always advisable to make a backup of the Registry before making any changes.
