Hi Gurus,

I have not very much experience with xdm and xdmcp.
For the sake of preparing for a project,I tried
to setup my linux-box this way, that when I boot my
linux-box, I get a Chooser with the remotehosts in
my network, INCLUDING MY LOCALSYSTEM.

Until now, I get either a chooser with the required
remotehosts, but without my local system, or i get the xdm
login-window and no chooser.
Xaccess is configured for chooser and broadcast, which
takes care I get all the remote xdm-Hosts on my chooser.
This works fine.
In /etc/inittab I start my X-session like
xx:5:respawn:/usr/X11R6/bin/X -broadcast -indirect 192.168.1.1 #my linux-box.
When i write down my local-system in Xservers,I get the
xdm-loginscreen only, and when I don't writeanything in
Xservers, I gett the chooser as described above.
For testing purposes I wrote localhost and the desired
remote-host in Xservers (like 0: joe.skinner remote), but in this case I just got the root-window (gray empty screen
an the mouse-pointer).
This is a SUSE-Linux 8.0 distribution. xdm starts i. runlevel 5.

So my question again:
Is it somehow possible, to get a chooser-loginscreen , in-
cluding my local system?

Any help is very much apreciated.

Regards,
Fred
