Hi!

I recently installed a Merlin Legend system. The customer has
2 lines and everything was working fine. The customer mentioned that the green LED light stays on for about a minute
when they've completed a call. ie: They've put down the handset but the green light does not go off immediately. I called Tech support. He logged into the system and made some
changes. After he left I noticed that there are no green or red lights. Everything is blank. When I press the line 1 and
line 2 buttons I no longer have dial tone. Calls can be received but you can't dial out.

Could someone walk me though the programming steps in order to get the phones working normally again? I'm using the WINSPM software.

thanks.

Not knowing what was done, it might be best to simply restore the system from the most recent automatic backup (made last Sunday Night, assuming the feature hasn't been turned off)

You'll go to System, Backup/Restore, and you can do an Inspect to see if Auto Back 1 or 2 is the most recent.

Then restore, and the system will be back at a starting point.

You may even want to do a manual backup before doing the restore, so you can return to today's programming in case it doesn't work out for you.

Hello again!

I appreciate the quick reply. I'll try that. I'll contact the technician who made the changes and get him to restore the backup.

Thanks

In the meantime, you could go to one of the MLX phones - where the line button lights no longer work, press the "inspect" key first, and then press each of the buttons (that used to have working lights) and read (and post here) what the display shows. After pressing each of the buttons to display what is programmed, press the "home" key to exit inspect mode. The information would be helpful to know what the previous tech did.

My first theory is that they changed your lines to GROUND START, when attempting to correct a problem with your "LOOP START RELIABLE DISCONNECT".

Merlinman - excellent guess!! If that is the case - at the operator phone, press menu, system programming, start, lines/trunks, LS/GS/DS1, 1, all loop, enter, back, TT/LS Disc, yes, enter, exit - and you should be all set.
