I have a sql server admin tool written in java using swing.
I've been running this on NT 4.0 sp 6 for sometime, no problem.

On win2k, however, the program executes, but the gui never appears. In the task manager, I've got the program, it's not catching any errors, and none of the other java programs with guis are appearing.

I'm re-installing the j2sdk 1.4.1_02, in the meantime, any ideas - what is this problem indicative of?

The answer was in the video - directdraw combo:
-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true fixed it.
Found the answer in sun forumns.

always good to know the answer to these anoying problems, thanx :)

dbleyl,

That's a great tip! I don't even do any Java GUI development but i'm marking your post anyway since it might be extremely valuable for others.

Thanks for posting the solution here! [cheers]
