hardware =
1 x pc on lan, (XP pro SP1)
3 x laptops w/ on board lan and safecom SWLCT-54125 cards (XP Pro SP1 and 2)
1 x 3COM 3CRWDR100A-72 Router.
Fault
Cannot get IP to work over wireless.
What happened was...
Router had a line dropping issue,it was running a very old firmware (Software ver 1.04 (sept 2004)) to fix this I upgraded it to latest firmware. after doing this I lost wireles connectivity of the laptops. did more testing then flashed the router to an older firmware (Software ver 2.05 (Jul 2005)) Fault still present.
All pc's and laptops work and obtain IP via dhcp when pluged in to the router via cable.
All wireless cards do connect the router.
I have tried a static IP on the wireless laptops, I then cannot ping the router.
Have tried with and without WEP
I have had a cimilar fault before and fixed by reinstalling tcp in windows XP. But that affected cable connections also. I dont beileve it is a winsoc fault because of this.
any thoughts apreciated..
