No Internet Connection

Hello all
I am unable to get an internet connection on home PC. I have an internet connection through a router, which works when connected to my laptop though. Problem seems to be with IP address. When i do 'ipconfig' the ip address is 0.0.0.0 but 127.0.0.1 works. My TCP/IP connection is set to automatic IP as well.
How can i get my connection back up and running? I have checked out a couple of other posts becuase this fault seemed to begin after running some Yahoo anti-spy software, although it did not find any malware so nothing was deleted. I also ran 'Winsock' but this has not helped.
Grateful for any ideas or suggestions.

Which O/S are you using?

Did you try 'Release All/Renew All' in ipcconfig?

When you go to Control Panel/Network, what installed network components appear in the window under the Configuration tab, and what properties are configured for each network component when you double click on each one?
