No internet but Network and Wireless network can be seen

I have a network with 5 computers on it. 4 runing XP home 1 Server 2000. One of the XP computers is not connecting to the internet but the others are. I can ping the gateway and other computers on the network, but cannot ping outside ips. Please help

Maybe a DNS fault? If you open a DOS window and try to ping a remote site, e.g.

http://www.microsoft.com..

does it resolve the domain name?

If this seems to be the issue, get the DNS settings off a working Xp machine and 'port it to the problem one.

Also I habe tried to ping an outside URL too and it didn't work.

Just to be clear, not all external websites are pingable (this is to save them from denial of service attacks). However whilst the site I'm pinging below doesn't work, it does show that DNS is working..

Note how it has resolved

http://www.microsoft.com

to 207.46.19.30. This proves DNS is working. When you ping a URL like this, are you getting the URL successfully resolved to some IP address?

ok I understand.. and yes it resolves the url to an ip.. but it still doen't have internet...
