No internet after new ME installation 1

Hello Group

Due to a different issue[one I have posted on the ME forum], I took my own initiative and re-installed ME on top of my old ME installation.
all seems fine after the 45 min installation, except I can't browse the Internet anymore.
going for the basic "google.com" comes up with:

thi spage can'be be shown with default messages everyone is familiar with[the 7 default bullets] culminating with "the server can't be found or there's a DNS issue".

Any ideas please.
