Hi

Can anyone help we have exchange 2000 but we are not getting any e-mail at all, internally or externally, the mail appears to send OK and is not staying in your outbox but it is not arriving anywhere, we have checked all the services and they are working OK.

Any Ideas?

Many Thanks

Lisa

1. Can Exchange users send to one another?

2. Do you have recipient policies configured for the domains (example.net) for which you want to receive mail?

3. Outbound e-mail: do you have routing groups configured or are you using pretty much a default installation of Exchange?

4. Outbound e-mail: have you looked at the queues on the Exchange server? Typically, these are found in Exchange System Manager, under Administrative Groups > Admin Group Name > Servers > Server Name > Protocols > SMTP > Virtual SMTP server name > Queues. The items in italics may have names specific to your Exchange setup. If mail is 'stuck' on the Exchange side, you should see a queue for each destination domain. You can right-click on the queue and select Properties to find the Status of the queue.

5. Inbound e-mail: do you have an MX record in your DNS that points directly to your Exchange server? Or, does your MX point to an external SMTP server that should be relaying to your Exchange organization?
