No incoming messages

On Novell 5.0 GW5.5
The incoming messages stop coming into GWIA occasionally and outgoing works fine. First thing I do is unload GWIA and boot the firewall and test send from outside. After about 15 minutes I know I have to reboot the server.
It's 50/50 on working without booting the server. The killer on this is I get no warnings whatsoever. Anyone have an idea on this

I've seen this with a Watchguard firewall which a firmware update fixed.

Are you using a watchguard firewall?

If so it sounds like a problem with the access-list, its not defined enough and can sometimes get stuck whilst processing permissions.

Yes it is a watchguard 6 and I updated the firmware for now. Will watch it for a week and see what happens. Thanks for the input to all.
