Have a Legend R7 with two T1's. Local t1 works fine, LD only T1 can't hold, transfer etc. in-bound or out-bound. No errors or alarms. Never run accross this one before! Any ideas??

Try this (It may or may not work) - On an outgoing call, once you dial the number, dial # (Pound).

It could be that the T1 is not set up quite right.

Make sure the settings the Providor gives you are matched in the Legend.

Tried # after dial, no change. All translations double checked. Swapped processor and T1 card. Gave trouble back to Global Crossing!

Yep! For whatever reason, they are not sending a CALL COMPLETED Signal to the Legend.

?Global Crossing? is that really a telephone service provider?

The problem is answer supervision! When using a conventional channelized T1 with E/M signalling, the call must provide answer supervision to the Legend or you can't do anything with it.

This also occurs on SUPERTRUNK service from Pacific Bell in CA. The channels are setup with E/M signalling.

Global Crashing didn't configure the service correctly....

Hope this helps!

Global Crossing called me yesterday. They had a hard time understanding the terms 'call completion signaling' or 'answer supervision'. They haven't called back yet. I'll post the outcome.

Looking into this further, I'd be willing to guess that these are set up for Loop Start or Ground Start operation.

The Carrier may have to switch these over to E&M Tie Lines to fix this problem.

Hi storman113,

Just so we are all on the same page, how do you have the channels configured in the Legend for this T1? As TIE?

The answer supervision is only an issue if you are configured as E/M TIE. It is NOT an issue on T1 if they are LOOP/GROUND START. But whatever the config, they need to match! If you did not order the service you might want to find out who and just what was ordered to ride the T1 and go from there.

Hope this helps!

Global Crossing is an actual service provider. (IXC, CLEC & Data). I've been working for the company as a CO tech since 1990. (I started out with Allnet Communication Services, which was bought out by Frontier Communications, which, in turn, was bought out by Global Crossing).
