Hi

I'm running Windows Small Business Server 2003 SP2

When I try to open Help and Support (or click the link under an Event Viewer description "For more information, see Help and Support Center at:") I get the following error as a dialoge box:

Help and Support error

Windows cannot open Help and Support because a system service is not running.

To fix this problem, start the service named 'Help and Support'

When I look for the 'Help and Support' service, it is not there. When I attempt to NET START "Help and Support", it reports that the service name is invalid.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Try this to resolve the issue you are experiencing. Open a command prompt and execute the following commands hitting Enter after each line.

cd %windir%\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries

start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install

After the command completes the Help and Support service should be listed in the Services console. Start the Help and Support service and see if the issue is resolved.
