no gateway address

Hi all,

I need help. I already browsed through the forums and found people with similar problems.. and although i've tried everything (winsock fix, restarting the dsl router, etc.) except reinstall my OS, i still can't make it work. I am running on XP and I have a DSL connection. can somebody help me out on this? thanks!

You are getting no IP address assigned from your provider. The 169 address you are getting is a windows assigned address when it cannot contact a DHCP server.

Have a word with your servcie provider.
