Howdy,

I have never used EIGRP on any cisco switches but with a new vendor change they have requested us to setup certain ports and switches using EIGRP. On some 3750 switches running Version 12.2(25)SEB4 I can use the eigrp commands like "Show ip eigrp int" etc and it knows what I am talking about. On my 2950's and a few of my 3750's any time I use the eigrp command it gives me the Invalid input detected error pointing towards the eigrp statement in the command.

Eigrp is supposed to be on this version of the IOS but why can't I see it? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks
Moe.

2950's are layer 2 only so you will never be able to run a routing protocol on them. you'll need to double-check the image on those 3750's that can't run EIGRP and make sure that they are running the proper image.

I hate all Uppercase... I don't want my groups to seem angry at me all the time! =)

If you have the base image on the 3750 you can only run rip, eigrp stub routing and static so it will be missing some eigrp commands that would be there with the enterprise services image. 2950 as unclerico said can never do any routing , it only has an address so you can manage it remotely.

Thanks guys,

No wonder I wasn't finding anything. So it appears I will need a new Switch with layer 3 capabilities or a router.

Oh yeah :)

Moe
