Our company has 4 locations with at least one domain controller in each location. About once a month or so one or more users in one location receive an error when trying to log in that there is no domain controller available or the user account was not found. I have to get on their machine and log on to the local machine, remove them from the domain, shutdown/restart then add back to the domain then of course, shutdown/restart again. If this happens in once location this month, it will affect a different location next month and it doesn't occur every day. Sometimes we may go weeks without the problem but when it starts it affects a different user almost every day for a couple of weeks.
Anyone have any idea what is causing this and what the solution may be? Again, it does not affect all users in a location - only one or two and usually not on the same day.
Thanks in advance!

this is a typical name resolution issue, basically, your XP should point DC DNS for name resolution. check this setting. if yes, check ur DNS, it's not properly configured i believe.

This problem only began about 4 months ago. No changes have been made on any servers. The issue occurs on both XP and 2000 machines. When the problem occurs it usually only affects one "random" user and may only occur once during a week or a completely different user another day. Also, it seems to go from site to site. Site A may experience the issue this week (or month) then it moves to Site B for a week or so then hits Site C. There may be a period of a week or a month or more between sites with a period of time that no user has problems loggin in.
