i have a laptop that appears to boot but has no display
does anybody know how to hook a monitor to it ,with no display.cannot get in to see bios

If there's a VGA port o+F5n the back just plug the monitor in, and you should get video, if not, you can try a FN key and F key combination such as FN+F5

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

i had already tried that i thought there might be an external way to do it without going into bios thanks for the reply

Who said anything about going into BIOS.

Just plug the monitor in and use the Keyboard to change the output of the screen to the other monitor.

Usually laptops have a key combination Fn(function key) plus one of the F keys above (f1-f12) The one with the little screen/monitor is the one you want, usually F5.

With the computer on, and the external monitor plugged into the VGA port, press Fn+F5 or whatever the key with the little monitor is. At no time do you need to go into BIOS to do anything.
