I am working with a Merlin Magix 2.2 Hybrid/PBX mode. We have two pools set up, 70 and 890. I have a fax machine set up on a T/R extension for outbound faxes only. Currently my users have to dial a 9 to get an outside line. Is there a way to program the system to auto pick a pool for this extension? Since this is a fax, there will never be a reason for this extension to dial another internal extension. Accessing either pool 70 or 890 would be acceptable.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Sheldon

Under System Programming, EXTENSIONS > Lines & Trunks > ENTER THE FAX EXTENSION NUMBER > THEN, Touch the lines associated with either pool, to assign them to the extension.

Then, under SYSTEM PROGRAM > MORE > Cntrl Program > PROGRAM EXTEN > Enter the Fax Extension and press the LINE BUTTON that is the POOL APPEARANCE, then dial *35, to set it to NO RING, then Press that button again and dial *14, then PRESS IT AGAIN and then press ENTER.

This will set AUTO LINE SELECT to the POOL BUTTON, thus eliminating the need to dial a 9.

Thanks merlinman. Works like a charm!
