Does anyone no if there is a way to setup phone so that when you pick up handset, you have to press Line DN to select a line

Added OLD and didn't work. I know this can be done somehow

I believe you need OLA, not OLD. Try that and if it doesn't work post back.

The only way I've figured out to do this is to not put anything on key zero. The cls of ola and lpk=1 means that the phone will hunt up 1 key from key 0 looking for dial tone. Therefore if you have an ext. on key 0 its gonna pick that key up first.

Build your extensions starting on key 1. Don't worry about cls ola or lpk.

If nruybr has two DNs on the phone (key 0 and key 1) and s/he sets the LPK to 1 then the phone should still automatically grab key 0 for dialtone, unless key 0 is already engaged, in which case it will then grab key 1. I would suggest, if in fact there are two DNs on this phone, setting the CLS to OLA and making the LPK 1.

Coniglio,

They don't want to grab dial tone when phone goes off hook.

you're right. I completely misread the post. It seems they want to do the opposite of what I suggested. sorry about that.

I think prime DN is set in the basic package and I don't think you can turn it off.

Thanks Guys. The model is actually M3904.
Your'e right, I want to act like commander style phone and when handset is lifted, I don't want to get dial tone but am forced to press a DN key to get dial tone.
